Cuvée: A Refreshingly New Take on Ladies’ Night

Alright Ladies, let’s talk dress-up, shall we?

We’ve all had that bad day, right? The nasty breakup, awful fight with Mom, or even just felt gross about having to do what a friend of mine calls The Clean Pants Dance after a new wash, yes? Any one of these events calls for a much-deserved message to all your best and most fun girlfriends to get dolled up and feel fabulous, wouldn’t you say? The follow-up text? Where to go. Now, this is where you might want to listen closely.

I would suggest to you that you go to a late-night, upscale champagne bar that is as mellow as it is energized in its aesthetic. To a venue where you can put on your Va Va Voom dress and feel like you absolutely own the place when you walk in. And to a lounge where, upon entry, you receive a key, and come 2:00am it could unlock a case holding the designer giveaway of the week. That’s just my suggestion, though. ‘Course, if you don’t want a shiny new pair of Louboutin wedges, then I guess that’s your prerogative.

The Louboutins were the week’s giveaway when I went to Cuvée on their Ladies’ Night, signature red bottoms and all. I watched as new couplets and triplets of girls in their dresses and fierce heels walked in and just ogled at them. I am new to Premier Event Marketing, as a guest at their events as well as a contributor, and when they suggested I come to one of Chicago’s classiest late-night spots to check out Cuvée, I simply giggled at the opportunity.

Allow me to better paint the picture: there are two bars in the square-shaped club that meet each other in a corner where a DJ plays music, setting the mood. In the middle of the room is a large sitting area, and each couch set has a table in front where customers can get bottle service of some of the most elite alcohols in the business. Men and women all around the room, chatting and dancing, flirting and enjoying themselves. There’s an elegance to Cuvée’s style: one that begs recognition and makes everyone inside stand taller, prouder, more sophisticated, whether they’re aware or not. Gives you sort of a velvety feeling when you walk in.

It helped to know how to get into the club. There is a gate with security outside the building, and they’ll direct you to the door around the corner (red velvet rope entrance and all). A bit nervous from the looks of the outside, I got there at about 12:30am on their Ladies’ Night (Wednesdays), saw that rope and was greeted with a man holding a list. Yes, a List. I told him I was there with Premier Event Marketing and he just lifted that rope for me and I sashayed on past. I’ve probably never felt cooler.

Once inside, I stood at one of the aforementioned bars, drinking a scrumptious Peach Bellini and observed the rhythm of night. This place is known for its champagne, by the way. Take note of the menu if you look them up online, but you’ll see in their description that “Cuvée is a term that refers to the very best selection used from the premiere champagnes of France.” I mean, I thought I ought to take them seriously after reading that, but wow was their Peach Bellini good! Listen to me when I say, “Listen to them.” And while we’re on that, who doesn’t want to sip a peach bellini in a gorgeous dress and heels, feeling like a VIP? I certainly loved it. I also know that every other girl there that Wednesday night had the same giddy-cosmopolitan air about them. It was like being on the set of “Sex and the City.”

But I digress. Opposite that DJ booth is the entrance, where you will be met by a hostess, receive your key, check your coats, and then turn to the view that is Cuvée. Fancy and fun are the two words that came to my mind in that moment. Each detail of the walls, the décor, the lighting – every inch of the place is simple and articulate and engaging. The night you are about to have is relaxed and beautiful.

All you have to do is answer that text and get on your fabulous way.
