2011 was a year for the outliers elbowing their way into the mainstream. If you turned on the radio today, you would hear Avicii’s Levels, Skrillex remixes, and indie bands like Foster the People holding the #1 spot on top 40 charts. 2011 was the year music in the mainstream began to change. House music made it’s way back to America, dubstep shook the dance halls of college bars, and suddenly underground bands were no longer underground, but brought to the public with services like Spotify and Pandora. Over the past year we have provided you with a weekly music selection, of all kinds of tracks, from hip hop to electro. Today we bring you songs that most represent what music was like in 2011, and where we think it is going in 2012. Some will want to critique what we selected, but we would rather you sit back and enjoy some amazing sounds, which hopefully trigger some amazing memories from beautiful nights out in Chicago. Everyone have a wonderful New Year’s Eve, and ring it in the best way possible. With music.
- Dante & DJ Bomber

PS- I would like to give a special thank you to my asst DJ Bomber for helping me out the whole year with these picks of the week. Without him I wouldn’t be able to get all this great music to you.

This pack includes everything from the best remix of “Pumped Up Kicks”, R3hab’s best work of the year, the breakout smash from my boy Sammy Adams, and my favorite song of the year, “Feel So Close” by Calviin Harris.
